Even at the Swedish Resilience 2008 the planet and people sides were talking past each other. “the tendency for ecologists to ‘black-box’ social processes and social scientists to black-box ecological ones, badly needs to be overcome” says Melissa Leach.

Meanwhile Piquepaille reports that network hierarchical structure can be predicted from partial results. Tools for wicked problems are needed. We’re building one.

    The Piquepaille report is fascinating. This is the kind of stuff I’m starting to look into in the background…I’m really looking forwards to when we have graphs with enough data in them to start applying some sophisticated analysis techniques…
